Whining Noise
Whining Noise
I recently bought a 2008 Acura TSX Nav/6MT with 48,XXX miles and today the car started to make a whining nose.
You only hear the whining noise when the transmission is in gear and gas pedal is depressed. That is the only time you can hear the whining noise.
I thought the problem would be a vacuum leak but the car sounded normal when it wasn't in gear.
An also when I shift gear it makes a harsh noise every time it catches.

Today I asked a well trained mechanic and I told him about the noise. I forgot to mention in the earlier post that I did shifted into the wrong gear around 60mph and my tires spun.
He told me that the sound could be coming inside the transmission because of the high spike in rpm from shifting into the wrong gear that either a bearing was messed up or I burnt the transmission fluid. Can anyone chime in and confirm this could cause a whining noise?
