wheel alingment - camber - control arm replacement

wheel alingment - camber - control arm replacement

Hi -

I went to get 4-wheel alignment done today. And this is what dealer told.

They attempted to bring all four wheels back into acura spec.

But camber is still out of spec and technician ordered a new right rear upper control arm under warrantry for replacement.

What does this mean? Any idea

Does the alingment issue I have would have been caused by this rear upper control arm? alignment is not covered under the warranty.

Couple of months back they resurfaced rotors due to vibration while braking.

Alignment is usually not covered by the warranty, but the alignment after the control arm replacement should be covered. You might be able to ask the service department to waive the first alignment attempt.

I wonder if I have this issue too... My steering wheel is ALWAYS turned to the 1 o'clock position in order for my to track straight down the road. It's been like this since day one. The dealer said it was due to the grading of the road, but even on totally flat roads, it's still the same way. The car tracks perfectly straight.

Almost like the wheel wasn't put on straight.

There is a service bulletin regarding right rear alignment. The upper control arm is defective. A four wheel alignment should be done free of charge after replacement.

I have the same issue. I've taken it to get my allignement done twice already and still seems to be out of spec, and the car slightly pulls to the right. I've since installed a camber kit (Ingals) since I'm lowered, and I get a fish tail effect when at speeds over 60 mph. I took it back for allignment and was told my car was waaaay out of factory spec and had to do an allignement yet again. I'm assuming I would need to go back to the dealer and have them replace the rear upper control arm. Or would you say this shouldn't concern me since I've installed a camber kit, wouldn't have this replaced the upper control arm?

Can someone point me the service bulletin which has information about right rear alingment. May be I can ask the dealer to waive the alignment charge .

You don't need the new upper arm if you already have the ingalls kit installed. There's a possibility the lock nuts on the camber kit weren't tight enough after the last alignment. I would double check on all the mounting nuts, especially the factory toe adjuster. Not alignment shops are familiar with the Ingalls adjustments.

I took my car for alignment a month ago....because it was misaligned. But now everything is in spec except for the REAR RIGHT CAMBER. I was told by the shop that theres no adjustments on rear camber on the TSX. Should I take in my car to Acura and see what they can do? I'm at 80k km. (in canada)

ya, take it in to the dealership and they will replace the upper right rear control arm and align under warranty.
