Well a couple days ago i had to come to a sudden stop.When i did this my brakes made a loud hitting or tapping noise it was very loud.I could feel pulses from the brake peddle it was very scary. Whats wrong?

 

Nothing's wrong...probably just the ABS

Thats how ABS works. It pulses the brakes when you hit them hard so they dont lock up the wheels. You will feel it in the pedal.

same exact thing happened to me......suprised b/c i could hear it in the cabin...wasn't too impressed being as though it was my 2nd day with the car, but it hasn't happend since..maybe it's something that happens at random..

 

It wouldn't happen at random, just a low speed but sharp turnin, like
over a driveway entrance where gravel accumulates on the side of the
road, will induce the ABS/stability control to operate when a tire
slips on gravel.

 

People, this is your ABS at work. ABS is not meant to be quiet or comforting. It is a reaction by the car to what it deems is a sudden emergency by your sudden braking. Everyone should have the experience of slamming on the brakes with a car with no ABS, and then a car with it and feel/hear/see the difference. No offense, but it's scary when drivers don't even know their own equipment. Just my pilot nature I guess - gotta know your aircraft inside and out. Same should be for cars - people should have a general knowledge of vehicles - it should be on the driving test. No biggie, now you know what ABS feels/sounds like.
