What's going on with my car???

Hey guys,

I posted a similiar thread in the problems and fixes section, but I'm not really getting any responses. So, maybe here I will get a few more. Anyway, if I have my car running, and I spray water at the front bumper, I get a "hissing" or like a "shorting out" type of sound. I never noticed this before, and it's doing this when my head lights aren't on, too. It does it for about a minute, then stops once I'm done spraying water. Any ideas? I first noticed this yesterday after I washed it, and then moved it to the garage to dry it. Does anyone have any ideas what this might be, and or ever heard a car do this?

Thanks much!

Jeff

P.s. It's an 07 TSX

Either spraying water on a Hot engine part (water rapidly evapourating) or water is going on a wire and causing a short. But chances are if it is stopping after a minute , and there is no warning or engine lights coming on its prob. water on a hot part.

Yeah, I suppose that's possible. I jsut never noticed it before. I did also spray underneath the car, but it sounded like it was coming from the front of the car. I suppose that maybe it was from the exhaust pipe or something.

Anyway, no lights or warnings, and the car seems to drive fine.

Thanks again!

radiator? likely hot + water = steam.

Aww dude. I'm not trying to be a smartass but water seems like to be the problem because when you stopped the water, the problem stopped.

Engine on; plus water; equals hissing noise. Engine on; minus water; equals hissing stops. Very most likely probable cause would be water evaporating at a fast rate.

Why must your engine has to be on for you to spray water on the front bumper though?
