Weird Issues - ANYONE else ever experience this?

Ok, this is kind of a weird issue, but it still exists. On the trunk lid of my 07 TSX right where you would put your hand to close the trunk if you were going to close it from the top, I have what appears to be two little dents. I had no clue where they came from, so I had a Paintless Dent Removal guy come out today. (NOTE* These dents are faint, but if you look them the right way, you can definitely see them). Anyway's, he took off the truck liner (on the piece that swings open) and tried to get the dents out. He discovered that Acura puts a Piece of what appears to be like hard fiber glass on the inside of the metal right BELOW where my dents are. It's a strip of this stuff. Anyway's, he thinks that this stuff is contributing to my dents. He thinks that the glue is spreading on it, therefore causing stress on the metal. Can some of you look at your trunklids VERY carefully and see if you see even the faintest of dents? Also, does his theory seem to hold water? I am going to go have the Acura Service Manager take a look at it tomorrow, and see if Acura can fix this.

ALSO.... I noticed after washing my car tonight (touchless car wash) that on BOTH of my headlights, by the side turn signals, I had some condensation. NOT very much, but after driving for about 5-10 minutes, it was totally gone. Is this leading to a major water leak or something? This is really going to make me mad too, because I had Paint Protection Film installed on them... If someone could help me out with these issues, that would be great!

Thanks,
Jeff

I've heard other folks on this board mention that the TSX trunk dents extremely easily. Might you have slammed the trunk closed unintentionally hard?

Not that I am aware of... I am wondering if it's from the workers at the full service carwash I go to. I know that I should avoid those, but sometimes, I just don't have the time to spend washing my car like I would like to Is there ANYWAY to fix these dents, or I am screwed?

Also, is this NOT normal for the headlights to be doing?

I dont have any dents other than a couple small ones that you can only see when you look for them from a pumpkin some faggots threw at my car. And also, wasnt/isnt there a recall out on the headlights for condensation in them?? A few people on the board have had the condensation problem and if I remember correctly, had it fixed free of charge. The condensation might just be some water from you washing your car settling in the little crease in bewteen the top of the headlight and the quarter pannel. But either way ask the dealer about the headlight issue and see what they suggest

Does this happen often with the weater settling in the little crease inbetween the top of the headlight and the quarter panel? Also, when I washed the car, it was about 44 degrees out and light raining misting. The ONLY reason I washed it was to get the suction cup marks, finger prints, off the car from the guy that tried to fix my dent.

Do you mean does the water settling there happen when it rains? If thats what you mean, I have never really looked but I would think it would, but like you said, after driving it just blows out of the crease because the headlight is sealed off in that crease. Usually after I wash my car I just take the corner of a towel and and run it through the crease and all the water is gone. Is the condensation actually in the headlight itself?? Or just in the crease?

It was IN the headlight... I'm not sure if this is just a coincidence, but it was in BOTH headlights, at the SAME time, in the EXACT spots... I know that the TSX's are notorious for headlight water leaks, but what are the odds that BOTH of the headlights would have the same exact problem.. Seems kinda odd to me

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8324 <<That is a thread about a guy with condensation in his headlights. The dealer ordered him new ones and installed them for free. I would for sure bring this up with the dealer when you go tomorrow because it sounds like you may have the same problem as the other guy.

I have one of the two dents you speak of. Its the one on the left hand side, on top of the trunk lid. I figured the trunk dents easily and that I must have been careless with pushing down on that area.

Can these be removed by a paintless dent removal place?

Also, how big is your dent? Is it pretty subtle?

I don't know, I never pursued it.

It is very subtle. You have to look at the trunk lid at a certain angle to see it. Now that I've collected a small assortment of dings over the years it bugs me less and less. I'm probably the only one who can see it unless I point it out to someone else.
