I've got this subtle "shiahhh" noise coming directly from the brake pedal as soon as I step on it. It's the pedal itself making the noise, not the brakes. Therefore, you can hear it even if the car is just sitting there without starting the engine.

Sounds almost like the pedal is scratching or rubbing against something.

 

This is NOT fact:
I had the same noise on my Civic and now I hear it as well in my TSX. The sound seems normal to me and I have never worried.

 

Glad someone else is having it. You're right, it's not bothersome actually, but I'm still going to let the deal check it out. Just to see what they have to say.

Also, my outside temperature reading is several degrees higher than it should be (even after the car has been on the highway for a while). I wonder if the dealer can do anything to it.

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but did this noise turn out to be normal? My 06 does this (and I'm pretty sure they all do), but I'd like confirmation.
