Water inside the door

Last night I was replacing my stock door speakers and I noticed that the insides of my doors were quite wet, including the backs of the stock speakers. It has been raining for a few days here in the NE but I didnt think this was supposed to happen. Anyone ever heard of this ?

I would check the seals around the window to see if there is anything stuck in there. Sometimes leaves and other crap can get in there and allow water to seep in.

Although the seals should keep the water from the inside of your door, I don't think that the door is watertight. Some water will enter the door cavity. There should be some weep holes in the bottom of the door to allow the water to exit. However, if there is a LOT of water than check and make sure that the seals are making full contact with the glass as Dan suggested.

See my post about 04 Acuras having no felt in doors

I would guess this happened for the same reason my window tint got scratched. All 04 Acuras have no protective felt for the windows and thus rain is getting in door when it shouldn't.

From my understanding, the felt would let more water through than the rubber. Think about it, what's going to let more water by... a plastic/rubber piece contured to the glass like a wiper blade.... or a piece of soft fabric?

No door is water tight. That is why they all have drain holes, most door speakers have that plastic housing around them (or at least covering the top of them), and the inside of the door behind the trim is coved in a sheet of plastic (it is a moisture barrier).

Speaking of felt and scratching again, we are not the only ones, here are the tiners talking about it:
