Water came in through sunroof
I went through a touchless carwash yesterday. The jets hitting the top of the car seemed to be very strong and some water squirted through the sunroof. Has this ever happened to anyone before? I checked the seal and it seems to be OK. I dont get any rain water coming through, but I'm concerned it might be a problem in the future.

Looks like you're not the only one. Ron Parr had the same problem:

stogie1020 had one leaking as well:

Seems to be a problem, although not a common one. Dealer time.

That is normal. As long as its not ALOT of water. The moonroof seal is designed to handle that kind of pressure. If its only a few squirts its no bid deal....there are drains there anyways so nothing to worry about.

Go to other carwash and see if this happen again. It maybe just that particular carwash presure is so high that cause the problem. I won't worry to much unless it drip even you do a hand wash.

I'd clean the seal and then try another carwash and if it happens again, bring it in.
We had the same problem with another vehicle, but it was the driver door seal that let the water in during a car wash. They had to replace the door seal.

This happeend to me this morning as well. I've gone to a few carwashes with my old AT and never had this happen. This was my first time at the car wash with my MT but it was also the first time I've been to this new carwash.
Water came through when the jets were firing on top of the car. I noticed the jets were spraying alot harder than any other wash I've been too. Very little water came through though.
fdl, what type of Car wash was it? I went to a Simoniz at the Canadian Tire gas bar.

Sorry to thread jack, but i thought these touchless car washes were bad for the paint?
Got this from another forum:
Usually they are not safe for the following reason.
By law, car washes are required to re-claim or recycle the water. This means they have two choices.
1. They can collect the water in tanks and pay to truck it away to a recycling center.
2. They can re-use the water.
So, what they do is re-claim the water meaning re-use the same water that has been on someone elses car. That means there is left over dirt and grime in the water that they use to pressure wash your car.
In other words, imagine taking a pressure washer at around 1000 PSI (typical for a car wash), and having sand, dirt, and grime in the water.
You get a sand blasting effect. To give you a clean car at the end of the wash, they spray each car with about 20 to 40 gallons of fresh water... they cheat a little bit.
You will never get the results from a machine that you can get by hand. If you want a clean car, and don't want to spend much work here is what you will want to do.
Touch-free systems usually use highly alkaline and acidic chemicals to remove all the grime from the car. And I'm not talking oxalic acid, they use the strong chemicals even as strong as Hydrofluoric acid. It will remove pretty much any wax/sealant on the car and depending on the strength of the chemicals they can cause permanent damage to your paint and/or trim. I suggest you wait until you can give it a proper wash.
