Since your car is stock, vtec engages at 6k rpm. You won't be able to stay in vtec if you shift gears even at redline (7k rpm).

You need the Hondata reflash if you want to stay in vtec. The reflash increases the redline to 7650 rpm, and drops the vtec engagement point to 4850 rpm. You can easily stay in vtec with the reflash.
