VSA button backlighting bulb - HELP!

Hey guys,

So, I discovered the other day that the bulb that backlights my VSA button on the dashboard burnt out. Anyway, I popped out the panel, and pulled out the VSA button. However, to my surprise, I can't find a bulb anywhere on the button! Did they change the button for the 2007 model year? It looks like I will have to replace the entire switch, unless you have to physically open up the black plastic casing behind the button? If so, how do you do it? It doesn't appear that it's made to come apart.

Anyway, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much!

I was surprised to find no bulb in my VSA switch too. It seems the '06 and up models do not have a backlight on the VSA switch.

Exactly!!! I didn't think I was crazy! Anyway, I looked up a new VSA OFF switch, and it looks like I'll have to spend $25 to have it light up again. That seems pretty ridiculous to me!

Anyway, if anyone knows of any way to change this bulb, I'd really appreciate your help.

Thanks!

There is no bulb receptacle in the switch, so it is not possible to change the bulb or add a bulb.

I have turned VSA off only once while in the snow to see what driving without it was like. Turns out the computer is way faster to respond to road conditions than a human is, so I turned it back on.

Did you find a need to switch VSA on and off frequently while driving at night?

Not true! There is totally a bulb under there. The outer sleeve must be removed to get to it. You can do this by pinching the two ends I circled in red, and sliding the sleeve in the opposite direction. The correct P/N for this bulb is 35850-SEA-J01, which is a 40ma (milliamps) bulb. Certain similar interior bulbs are 60ma, which makes them too bright.

I wanted to respond to this thread because it came up in my search results and was surprised to see people say these things even though Acura has a replaceable bulb for it in their diagram: SWITCH for 2006 Acura TSX SEDAN

I can confirm too that there is a bulb under the sleeve of the VSA... I just changed it on my 2008 TSX.
