Vibration and Transmission Problem
Vibration and Transmission Problem
Hi, I recently purchased a used Acura TSX 2004 2.4L Automatic 80,000 miles on it and I have a problem with it.
There is a big vibration in the car while you first start it and when it works in low RPM levels around 1500-2000. I have replaced all 3 main motor mounts to see if that could solve the problem but that didnt do anything. Now I'm not sure if the transmission mounts are causing this vibration problem.
The other thing is that the transmission has a 2 second delay when shifting to reverse from parking and or shifting to drive from parking. When I shift to reverse, I have to wait 2 seconds until it kicks it into gear and its jumpy. It does the same exact thing when I shift into drive. Also, when I drive the car and it tries to shift from second gear to first gear, there is also a delay, so the delay happens only when it shifts to first gear.
Could the problem result from a bad transmission solanoid valve, or could the problem be because of transmission mounts? I hope this is not a mechanical transmission problem. Can anyone help and has anybody had a similar problem? Thanks.

Does your vibration subside noticeably once the car warms up and goes back to 750rpm at idle? Many of us have vibration when the car is cold in the morning and hasn't warmed up. This is a common "characteristic" of our cars and similar model year accords. There may be no solution if the vibration subsides once the engine warms up. Sorry I can't help with the gear shifting issues you're noticing.
