License plate lights

So I replaced my license plate lights with LEDs a couple months ago, and one started flickering the other day, then last night I noticed they both were. What would cause this?

Yup it could be a bad LED. I had a hoens before and they flickered on me. I changed to a set on superbrightleds.com and they have not failed on me after one year.

I see that you have a black TSX. I would recommend these bright ones. I switched to these about 4 months ago and haven't had any problems with it.

For an output of 105 lumens, I don't think these are expensive. Also, they are sold in pairs, not individual.

I used to have the $10 pair on superbrightled (at 20 lumen) but they weren't bright enough for me because my car is carbon gray and the paint pretty much absorbs most of the light emitted by the LED. Now if you have a white car, then any LED would suffice since the white paint will help with light scatter.

It's artic blue, so it would need brighter ones? I like the brighter ones anyway, I just didn't know where to find them in the first place so I looked around here and found superbrightleds

In general, regular older style led bulbs (the one that are round and not square) that have multiple led's in them tend to fail in the license plate light area. It's the vibration. A 1-led bult or multiled bulb with the flat square style will last much longer as it isn't as sensitive to the vibration. I've gone through 3 pairs so far. The third has lasted for 2 years and is the newer flat, square style. The previous two each lasted 3 months are were the older style bulbous led's.
