Angry USA Spec iPod adaptor not working

I installed the USA spec iPod adaptor in my 2005 TSX last week. It worked fine until I shut the car off. Whenever I restart the car, the radio doesn't accept the adaptor as a part of the system. Instead, I hear my iPod playing through my XM source with strong static.
I've reconnected the adaptor many times and it works fine until I shut down the car.

Basically, the car no longer shows CD-C on the display after I restart.

Anyone ever had this problem before?

I had this happen with my RL and the Acura MusicLink - no CDC was showing up in the display - no sound at all. The wire had to be replaced - all is good now.

Thanks for your response. It's seems that the cable is the overall problem with this unit. I'm sending it back for an even exhange of another one. Hope it works!

I had this exact thing happen and Crutchfield sent me a new one. Have not had a problem since.
15 minute install (including drilling a hole in the storage compartment below the radio) and I absolutely LOVE this product

Off topic question.

I have a 06 w/ Navi and an iPod touch

Is your XM radio disabled when you use the USA spec iPod adaptor?

What extra functionality do you get with the USA spec iPod adaptor compared to using the AUX connector in the arm rest?

Actually, I received a new one and it works like a charm. Turns out that the problem was within the cable.

The XM is not disconnected. This adaptor taps into the factory XM line and "adds" another input to the radio making it seem like a second CD changer is installed. You would then have:
FM1, FM2, AM, CD, XM1, XM2, CD-C.

The advantages are:
1. You can charge your iPod
2. Change tracks with steering wheel controls
3. and, if you set it up this way, can also change tracks by directly accessing the iPod (some adaptors lock out direct iPod access when connected...USA spec gives you a choice)

I have a touch screen as well and find it more convenient over the aux port. I own an '05 without an aux port, so I'm not sure if features 1 and 2, above, works with the '06 aux port.
