UGH My Front Bumper

UGH My Front Bumper
Well not the best Friday. I have an Artic Blue TSX that is about 1 month old. Love the car and I have not scraped it once. I used to drive a F-150 4x4 so it has been an adjustment for me from pulling in to places fast and dead on to now pulling in places at an angle and slowly.
Well on to the point of this post. I was getting gas today and when leaving I was avoiding a ditch in the parking lot that was deep and as big as my car and when going around it I went into a reverse speed bump (like a speed bump but it goes in the ground) It was not even painted no warning or anything of it and it was very hard to see since the parking lot was cement and it all blended in together :'( . Luckily I was going about 5 mph. But it scraped the paint off my passenger side of my bumper right below and also to the left of the fog light place thingy ma-bob . Looks like someone took sandpaper and rubbed all the paint off.
The question I have since I do not know any thing about bodywork. Can they fix this plastic bumper or do they have to replace it. A friend told me they heat it up and smooth it back out. And do they have to paint the entire thing or can they just paint the spot they fix? Also I know this probably cant be answered but I was curious what the ballpark figure would be? I am planning on getting it fixed first thing next week.
Thanks for your help.

Hmm...that's a rather large area. They may not be able to repair that easily. If they can, it might cost you a pretty good amount. Enough so that you might as well get it replaced. I'd take it to a local body shop and get them to take a look at it. I wish I could tell you more, but unless you post pics, I really don't have enough information to help you more.

Unless its actually cracked or pushed in to the point that when pushed back out and heated it leaves crease marks that bumper is saved!!! Like cgtsx2004 said, take it to a body shop. But unless their ripoffs they should be able to give you an estimate for a repair on the bumper not replacement. btw the estimate on your color code B-507P should not exceed $250-300.00. My advise to you is shop around and dont agree to repair it w/ the first shop you go to. Trust me there is lot of half ass ripoffs around.
Good luck w/ that JAYCEE.....................1

replacement + painting costs about $700, I know I destroyed my bumper
Post a pic, but if the mark is on the bottom, you should be able to cover it w/ the OEM body kit!! That's a great excuse for modding a car if I ever heard one.
