breaks hisses

is it normal to have something hiss after you apply the breaks?
Anyone know what causes this?

Could you describe it in more detail, maybe give some background on the situation. I've never heard my brakes hiss.

everytime I begin to brake (only lightly tapping the brake), something hisses.. it's faint so if you have the radio on you can't hear it

Hmm...doesn't sound like it is severe. Besides, as long as braking power is not affected, I wouldn't worry about it.

I have an integra gsr and I asked one of my techs the same thing a while back. I heard the same thing (hissing noise) when lightly applying the brakes normally at mid high speeds 45-65 mph. He said it was normal brake noise. But youre right its very faint and the slightest noise and It cant be heard. Could be comparing oranges and apples but for the most part I think its the same noise.
