Turn off auto dim default in rearview mirror

Folks,

I live in the NY city area where there is always traffic on well lit roads. Therefore, i always turn the auto dim off to best see the other cars. The default is to turn the auto dim on whenever i start the car. Can turn that default off so i only use auto dim when I want it.

Thanks.

Small piece of black electrical tape over the lens that faces the rear of the car should do the trick. There isn't any way other than disconnecting the wire itself.

I am ALWAYS turning it off come dusk hours. Atleast it is able to be turned off...even if it is manually done all the time.

there's gotta be a fuse you can pull to kill the power going to it. No power means no auto-dim.

It's not on it's own dedicated power supply circuit, so you can't "pull a fuse" to disable it without affecting other circuits. Easiest to just unplug the connector at the back of the mirror.
