Unhappy Tsx Hood Vibration

TSX HOOD VIBRATION

Just picked up my brand spanking new '06 6-SPD MT TSX. I love this car, but I noticed something quite annoying. The hood bounces, rattles and vibrates up and down while driving. At first I thought the hood wasn't latched properly, but this was not the issue. It's much more noticeable at highway speed, but it's also visible whenever I hit a small bump in the road. Is this normal? If so, I would say it's a pretty big design flaw, and not a good quality indicator. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any suggestions???

Just let it be

Yea... I noticed that same thing. I think I first noticed it when I was check my wipers while I was driving and saw that the hood seem to be vibrating. Didn't really bug me that such so I just let it be.

I have noted the same problem. My wipers block the view of the hood so I have not been too bothered by the issue.

Is this only happening only with the 2006's because I have never noticed this on my '04?

try adjusting the rubber stop that contacts with the hood at the front. turn it anticlockwise slightly to get it higher. That might stop the vibration.

I've had mine for more than 5 months now and haven't noticed this at all. Anyone have a video so I can see what you're seeing?

I'm wondering if the issue is isolated to 06s. It doesn't bother me to the point where I want to take the car to have it looked at but it's funny other people have noticed it too.

I have an '04 and I have this 'problem' ..... for those of you who doesn't have this 'problem', with the hood closed and locked, try pulling the hood up and see if there's some play (up and downwards)...

I already tried adjusting the rubber stops but I couldn't get it to seat properly, it still has some play either way... I think the latch was designed this way or it's defective... On every other car I have, when I try to pull the hood when it is close, there's no play at all...

I have an '06 and with the same "problem". On very bumpy roads at slow speeds, you can actually hear it rattling.

You guys sure it's the hood? I'm still not convinced that it is.

Someone needs to get a video of this.

I messed with mine yesterday, haven't had a chance to see if it changed anything. I'm not sweating it, but I'll report back.

Haven't noticed on my '04, but I'll try supraken's test. Either way it should be easily fixed by the stealer.

there is a rubber stub on each side of the radiator cover that you can adjust by turning left or right to dampen the hood....when i get my car back today Ill post pics to show you what Im talking about..

I have the same thing. I noticed it after about 2 months with the car. It doesn't really bother me but maybe I'll try this little fix to see if it helps. I have an '04.

Ok, got this issue taken care of at the dealer, they adjusted the hood latch and now the hood has ZERO play. However, they made it too tight that now it's a little hard to close...

btw, adjusting the rubber stops (before the dealer fixed the latch) in my case didn't help, because you would be able to push the hood down a little bit... not sure how to describe it, but it was definitely the hood latch causing the problem

I adjusted my stoppers, it seems like it helped a little bit. I guess I'll be making an appointment to have them adjust the latch now.

I took a road trip over the weekend and noticed this whilst driving a rough patch of freeway. Upon closer inspection, the hinge side of the hood does indeed bounce with bumps (using the tops of the fenders as a reference point). If you grab that end of the hood, there is no discernable play. I will take it to the dealer. It likely needs the same latch adjustment.
