TSX '06 Tie-Rod

I drive a tsx '06 with 57000 miles on it. I ran it up on a curb at about 45 mph, my front tires blew out, and so did my rear. after the body shop repairs, my car rumbles really violently on the road, highway and regular.

I have concluded that the problem is probably cause my tie-rod is bent. can anyone give me step by step instructions on how to replace them?

Thanks.

Tie rod is probably bent. Wheel bearings are almost definitely shot too, which would account for the noise. Did the body shop do anything to the rims either? They're probably bent too. For a rumbling noise, I'd start with the wheel bearing and get an alignment. That'll tell you real quick if the tie rods are bent or not.

well... the body shop did replace 3 out of the 4 rims i think, cause the back left or right one wasnt damaged at all. but i took it to the acura dealership to see what they are going to say. since the body shop wasnt acura, it was chevy, i dont think they took a look at the bearings, or the tie rods at all...

so as of now, im waiting for the dealership to tell me whats up, and give me an estimate on the repairs.

Be prepared for a huge cost. If the tie rods are bent, there could also be damage to the inner tie rod too. The wheel bearings are expensive to replace too.

But I thought the body shop replaced 3 of them? How could it be the back 2 if at least one of them is brand new?

i think that they replaced the 2 front wheels but 3 tires. they didnt touch the back wheels at all, except for the 1 tire.

Work with your insurance company to get the repairs completed. The body shop botched the job, and you shouldn't have to pay beyond your deductible for the car to be back to good.

Brakes are the simplest thing to do and will save you $$$. The pads run about $60. I would recommend you check some DIY on how to do it or get a cheap Haynes manual from Pep-Boys. I doubt they will have a TSX manual but if you find an Accord, the pad instructions are very similar.

Power steering flush isn't usually needed. If you really want, you can get a turkey baster or siphon pump and drain the reservoir twice to get a good amount out of it. (Use only Honda power steering fluid)

The brake fluid should be changed every 3 years. I use Valvoline synthetic as the OEM stuff is too expensive. The on thing to note it you need an expensive piece of Honda equipment to get the ABS going to mix with the fresh fluid. I don't know how much longer the modulators on the newer Honda/Acura products go for, but mine went out on my Integra after 12 years and I didn't start flushing the fluid until year 8. You'll need a helper for this to pump and hold the brake pedal down while you open the drain valve. There are other kits you can buy it you want to do the job yourself too.

If you are motivated, you may want to shell out the money for a factory service manual from www.helminc.com. Good Luck.
