trunk release issues

ok, so now that i finally installed the mugen spoiler my trunk release doesn't function as well as it used to. furthermore, when i hit the trunk botton on my key fob, the trunk mearly unlatches, whereas it used to pop up a little. anyone know how to correct this? do you guys have the same issue with factory installed oem spoiler? if not, how did the dealership amend it? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks again everyone,
vinny

The factory spoiler comes with a stiffer spring to compensate for the added weight. Perhaps you could use one of those.

if you got this spoiler, then I don't know if the upgraded springs would help.

I think the gas shocks would be a good mod. The trunk spring from the OEM spoiler is a good idea, but the only thing is that it might be heard to find a place to get it seperately.

Good luck!

trunk springs/gas shocks ... i guess the modding shall continue. i'll have a look into the springs because that seems like the simplest/cheapest option. here's the wing:

Can you adjust the torsion bars that help open the trunk?

I recall reading somewhere that the duck lip spolier comes with a stiffer torsion to replace the stock. Guess you could get on out and ask yto make it out os stiffer material like SS and probably work better to pop.

Last option, change your boot to a CF type...lighter and pops...

The only one I know was pointed out by someone here in this forum.

VIS Racing for CF trunk but don't know about the quality. I was thinking of getting one and shipped to Singapore but the freight cost was about the same price as the CF. You get a better value if u are within the US.

Damn, that boot would have sold many around the world...

Maybe not what you want to hear but ... the way the trunk "pops" open a few inches is, to me, kinda corny. It merely unlatching might be a Good Thing. YMMV.

BTW ... looking niiiiiice.
