I for the life of me can't get the cover off that lights up the inside of the trunk when it's open . . . is there like a trick to get it out?

 

It is held in by plastic spring clips. On either side of the light are indentations in the metal car body. Take a large screwdriver and poke it into one of the indentations above the plane of the lens. Be careful not to break the plastic ears on the light. As you push in with the screwdriver, you should be able to feel the light loosen in car body. As it loosens, you pull the light out.

You know I think that was one of the things I did and that didn't have much effect . . . unless I was doing it in the wrong spot . . . where exactly am I supposed to be sticking the screw driver?

 

I think the place to place the screw driver is on the right side while facing the trunk (light).
