Transmission SLIPS! Big problem!

Hi Guys,
I've had my TSX now for exactly a year, never hard a problem.... got exactly 15 000 Miles on it.

My transmission started slipping very often... the car died on me right on the high way today.... it started about 4 days ago.

While sometime it works, there are these times that I'm on drive and keep pressing the gas....... the RPM revs but the car doesn't move... same applies when in SPORT SHIFT mode.

It got to a point where I can't take the car out anymore as it will simply stalll somewhere...

I'm brining it to the dealer tomorrow.

Was wondering if you think that the transmission might be dead ? or perhaps a selenoid? Anyone had similar problems?

THX,

OLEG,

there has been a recall on those i believe....

if i m right then no problem, cause dealer really has no excuse to blame u for any tranny
problems... unless u bottomed out the tranny on a speed bump or u turboed ur engine.

stupid MT..... haha

Its official,
My AT tranny is dead... right a year after - 16 000 miles.

The dealer was very impressed as its the first TSX tranny that failed in almost 2 years.

I think this is only the second I've seen on this board. Sucks that youa re one of the unlucky ones, but good that it seems to not be a widespread problem with the AT trannys. Every manufacturer from kia to mercedes runs into failures, but it's great acura is taking care of you like they should!

Oleg,
Lucky you

It does fall under warranty so Acura should replace it without complaint. Are they replacing it? Do you get a free loaner? Did they accuse you of misusing it? Did they identify what the specific problem was?

Just curious.

Their tech guy test drove it with me.... and right on the highway it screwed up again... so we slowly drow it back to the dealer at 5miles/hour.

They didnt complain, gave me a brand new 300C CHRYSLER for a few days... no complaints whatsoever.... Il let you all know.

Almost one year ago my '04 TSX had the same symptoms as yours, acura took one week to replace the tranny in the car.

P.S. They gave me a rental car for the whole week 04 Sebring Convertable and 04 Jeep Liberty (Both chrysler cars too, weird dont ya think?)

If your check engine light came on, see what fault code your car read when they checked it out...

I'm a little curious, since your description could be from a number of different available failures.

I know of some dealers that work with a 3rd party rental company like Enterprise
