Transmission Fluid Smell

Transmission Fluid Smell
Hi all,
I had my car serviced this morning - the 10K service. Shortly thereafter, while parked, I noticed big puddles of fluid under my car under my engine compartment. Checked the fluids and it turns out the transmission fluid is low so this is most likely what is leaking. So back to the dealer it will go (via tow truck). When checking the fluid however, I also noticed that the transmission fluid smells like burnt something-or-rather.
Can someone who has a car that is running fine check their transmission fluid, smell it and tell me if this is normal? Or does anyone know enough about cars to know if this is normal???

Oh chit. Nothing about that sounds good at all. However, dont freak yet. Clearly their fault.
AT fluid does not ever smell burnt (unless someone has lit it). Doubt that MT fluid does either, but have no personal knowledge.
Hope it works out for ya.

Thanks for the sympathy - I will need it!!! On the one hand, I hope they don't have to replace the transmission (I hear that can be hairy). On the other hand, my confidence in this particular transmission is now shaken. Boo hoo.
