Transmission Acting Funny?
Transmission Acting Funny?
Just wondering if this is normal.
I dont remmeber the car doing this but now when im driving around at say 30 to 35 mph and i let off the gas, the car sorta jerks. This only happens when the cars warmed up and going.
I cant tell if its the engine is at the point of changing lobes to the higher cam or if its something related to being hit. i remmeber there being some sort of nudge, but nothing this hard. Ususly im driving in either a 35 mph zone or a 25.
its a 5at, 04.
sorry if im just being paranoid

Well thats the next step. Soon as the stupid insurance agent gets thier act together, im going to personally watch them give them an estimate. Im very concerned about the saftey features, beucase yes it stopped more expensive items from breaking but im pretty sure theyre one time use.
That and i hafta get this thing down to more of a science, speically if i have to reproduce it over n over again for the dealer.

well its not necissarily the drifting. sorta like when im driving get off the gas for a second then get back on. theres no jerk getting back on but sometimes theres a jerk right before you being to drift. kinda like its comming off of something
I assume you are just driving in D instead of SS mode?
If you drive in D mode, the ECU will pick the best gear to match your speed. So it's very hard to tell if it's your car or your own problem. It depends on how aggressive you drive @ those speed, if you floor it from a stop to 30-35mph, and let go the gas or easy on gas after that speed; then what the ECU did was picking 1st gear for acceleration then shift to 2nd when the acceleration slow down. Or if you are doing around 30-35mph but decide to floor it and let go the gas, it will shift from probably 3rd to 2nd or even 1st gear and once you let go your gas it will shift up. Also 1st gear is so sensitive, if you are tapping on the gas in 1st gear, then it jerks like crazy.

thats what i was afraid of, but its in 5th gear. it happens sometimes when i put it into ss, which is common where ill be doing about 35 and itll struggle to shift so ill do it
but it does it n 4th n 5th i beleive. definately 5th tho

I live a pretty big hill, and i noticed that every time i go down it, it feels like the car is dragging, and then right when i get to the flat part at the end i can feel the car switch gears. Also i tried using SS again and when i shifted at around 2000-3000RPMs the car jerked like crazy, but when I let the car get up to around 3500-4000 RPMs it was MUCH smoother.
well downhill is normal. i beleive the TSX has some sort of gearing advantage so you dont use your brakes and heat them up.
depending on which downhills im takgint but ususaly over passes ill put it in netural n take the extra speed to my advantage
