For those with OEM body kits

Do you experience a hum/harmonic noise when traveling between 70 & 90? Mine is drivng me nuts; dealer tells me it is due to the body kit trapping air (states has happened with Integras), BUT, it only happens on the passenger side with noise coming from the front (gets louder when I open the glove box). I want the dealer to recognize that not all TSXs with kits have this problem. Any comments appreciated

Just drove 1800 miles last week...900 each way to florida and back...no hum/noise noted. I have the body kit and spoiler. I did get the rattles/vibration in the door panels that a lot of owners seem to have....mine happens when I'm playing music with heavy bass...it only stops when set below a volume setting of 10 or so.

I don't have any rattles. But I did put dynomats in the front and rear doors.

Never had any noise problems from the ground effects.

I too had a terrible rattle from the right B piller at 80 mph on pavement. For some odd reason there was no rattle on concrete highways, just asphalt. I took it in for service thinking there was some loose mech in the actual piller, but the fix was a loose mount on the right under spoiler. One lock washer later and no rattle. Other than that I have been pretty lucky with the noise.

JRP,
Thanks for the input, can you please give me details how the dealer diagnosed this? I am very interested in hearing about your experience. Do you think it is something you could have fixed? I, too, only experience it on asphalt. This noise is definitely causing me to rethink the quality issue with Acura. Thanks again to all who responded. I will keep you up-to-date on my diagosis.

i don't have a body kit, but i have a similar humming noise (very very very slight) when i'm going 80mph. when i let go of the gas at 80mph... i can hear the slight humming noise until it reaches 75mph... then it goes away. i don't know what's causing it, but i don't think its anything serious. perhaps its the tires.

Next time you hear this noise open your glove compartment and let me know if it gets louder, more refined. I thought maybe the tires too, but it only happens on the passenger side.

I took a look this weekend under the car at how the body kit is attached - one bolt (at the back) & 2 plastic push connectors on the bottom along with 10 connectors on the side (inside). The 2 bottom push connectors were loose and do not fit tight. I will have dealer replace when I take in for my 10000 mi. checkup. Maybe they can replace the push connectors with real bolts & nuts.
