I am giving serious consideration, primarily due to maintenance costs, to getting rid of my '98 2.8 Quatro A4 and getting a '04 TSX. Can you folks offer some advice, experience or other comments on my situation? Can anyone compare the cars? I will miss the all wheel drive. What options are good on the TSX? I like the 6 speed option. Thanks in advance....

 

you should know your going to get a biased opinion here, personally i think the TSX is the most Cool car i have had. features, reliability, build, MPG, handeling and just plain fun.
get the Navi version if you can find one.
afterall the TSX as well as the Accord made C&D 10 best recently the accord is on its 18th year as a 10 best car.
my point is that the way i see it the TSX got picked 2 times because the accord is so similar. the S2k also got a 10 best. if memory serves me correctly i dont think there was any other manufacturer that got 3 of its products out of 10 in this pick of the 10 best.
that 30% of the pick all honda!

TSX and Mz6 look very similar !!!!

Mz6s comes with a v6 220 hp and for a few G's less than the tsx.

Tsx has a slightly better interior where mz6 has more options.

You will love the TSX. Very comparable to the A4, but much cheaper and much more reliable. The 6-speed is a great tranny!

 

If you were living further north I would tell you that you will definitely miss the AWD. I live in Canada and went from an AWD Subaru to the TSX and see a huge difference in winter performance. I had more confidence driving the AWD in winter.

However, you don't have the need for the AWD where you live. For the money the TSX is a fantastic all-around car. It might lack some power and speed but you will never use it like a race car anyways (right?). The interior of the car is nicer than any I looked at including the A4 and Mz6, IMO. The exterior while not super sexy, will look beautiful as the design ages because of the classical lines. The MT and Honda reliability is what changed my decision from the more powerful Mz6 (still a good deal and a good looking car) to putting my money on the TSX.
