Temporary fix for Rust?

i think one of the little hoodlums around here jumped on the roof of my car one night, there is a dent and about a 2 inch x 1inch rust spot where the sunroof meets the roof of the car, what can i do for now to make the rust not eat through the roof?

From what I understand once rust starts you can't stop it, only slow it down. I suppose you could cut the section of metal out that is rusting and weld some new stuff in there but I'm guessing thats not something you are interested in.

no way, i'm thinking more along the lines of sanding it down and putting some of that acura touch up paint over it, i dont really care how good it looks becauase its in an area you really cant see....and i only have the car for a 1 1/2 more years.

I did not mean it in a an A-hole way, i just didnt understand, cause it made me nervous that i to might be getting rust regardless of someone jumping on it.

lol, its cool...i didnt mean to be an A-hole in return.....i am still not 100% sure how it happened, i had to really look at the roof to notice it was bent and I assume thats how the big chip of paint came off....i sure as hell didnt scrape my roof on anything or put anything on my roof so it had to be something along the lines of someone stepping on it.......

well there is the one dent near the rust spot, and there is another bend in the roof on the opposite side diagnol to the rust spot, the dents/bends are not like sharp little dents that would appear from something falling on it, they are large bends in the roof like something really heavy was on the roof.

Get the rust spot covered ASAP. You don't want the any rust run-off to occur when it rains.
