Suggestions on Rotor & Pad replacement brands?
I've read almost all of the threads regarding the crappy OEM rotors and brake pads. I have an '06 with about 50K on it, and I've had shimmying/shaking etc. for quite some time now. Seeing that my nearest Acura dealership is a 6-hour drive for me, I'm just going to buy all new replacements, front and rear, and be done with it. So, I've seen a FEW names thrown out there, but have yet to see any really good recommendations with estimated costs. So, this is my question: I drive somewhat fast, but not agressive. My driving is mostly in 50 MPH zones, not a lot of stop & go traffic at all. This is my daily driver, it's strictly stock, and all I really want is to have a smooth, safe stop, but I don't want to pour a TON of money into it buying the best of the best. So, suggestions for rotors & pads, places to purchase online, and what I can expect for cost?

Racing Brake through MrHeeltoe. He's got the total package for you. If you want to save some and get improved performance, but not Racing Brake good, TireRack and Brembo replacement rotors, Hawks HPS and new Honda DOT 3 (2 pints).

i bought rotora rotors (slotted) about 250 for the set, and hawk high performance brake pads about 80 bucks plus shipping. both from modacar.com. never looked back.

OEM parts from NAPA might get the job done for you. Else check with AutoZone - they might have
lifetime warrantee pads. It doesn't sound like you need to go to non-OEM parts to be happy.

rotors: $159.00 (front) + $159.00 (rear)
pads: $82.00 (front) + $52.00 (rear)
= $452

the factory and what an Acura dealer will use in his shop for repair and replacement work. OEM means replacement parts from other sources made to Honda/Acura specifications like NAPA, Carquest, AutoZone, others. The warping and pad deposit problems unique to the stock Acura parts may not be a problem with other suppliers; I just don't know. However, it should not be necessary to go with 'racing' quality parts from Hawk, Performance Friction, and others just to get a quality brake job for street use. In your case, price and availability for OEM parts might be the best criteria.

I knew that... I knew the difference, but for whatever reason, was interchanging the two in my head. So, yes I know that the STOCK ones are crap, and that I need to replace with OEM. My apologies..... and thanks for everyone for their suggestions so far.
