Strut replacement

My tsx has been making a rather loud squeeking noise everytime i go over a bump. I finally brought my car in to acura and they're having to replace the complete left rear strut. They ordered the parts and they should be in sometime next week. I was wondering if anyone knows why this would happen in such a relatively short amount of time? My tsx is a little over 3 years old with 34K on the clock..thanks

If the roads are rough in your area, or if you've had a big impact with a pot hole that would do it...

If you make it to the BBQ today, we can take a look at it for you. I'm sure somebody will inevitably show up with a floor jack.

I have been having a problem with my front driver's side as well. Everytime I go over a bump, there is a popping noise that comes from the front driver's side. I brought it in to the dealer last time and they said they tightened the strut and it was fine. Now about 6 months later, the noise is coming back. Does anyone else have this problem? If this comes loose after every few months, is there a way I can tell them to replace something, like a bolt or something. I'm sorry I am not very familiar with cars. I have an 06 with around 37k on it. Thanks
