Strange Problem with climate control after changing battery (nav)

So my battery died last weekend, and after popping a new one in and entering the two codes needed to operate the Nav console, I got everything working again... except for any of the climate controls.

Once the car is running, if I push the ac button, I get an error message on the screen. It tells me to operate the climate controls after starting the engine. The engine is already running. Why does it think that the car is off?

Could it be the system didn't restart correctly after putting in the codes? Would unhooking the battery and starting over again possibly solve it? It's really hot here, and having no A/C right now sucks.

I'm also 2,000 miles out of warranty, so if I can avoid a trip to the dealer, that would be great.

Let dealer take car of it - goodwill gesture hopefully especially with the Honda odometer class action settlement http://www.hondaodometerclassaction.com/

Wow, I wasn't aware of this - thank you very much for posting the settlement info!

Looks like you're in the Houston area as well. I'm taking it in to Gillman Acura tomorrow, and once they diagnose it, ask them to find out if Honda will make the goodwill gesture. Again, thanks!
