After watching a movie today I got back in the car and when I started it up my navi asked for a code???? Confused I kept punching in my pin number until I realized it was asking for the Navi code that comes with the car. Problem fixed but anyone have any idea why this may have happened???

 

There's alot of threads about this. I've even had it happen twice on my 06.

...as for the answer...who knows? I know I didn't disconnect my battery either times. Now I just have my navi code memorized

 

Yeah...this freaked me out once too. For no apparent reason, I had to enter in my code about a month ago.

I guess this will just be an unsolved mystery for all of us. I thought maybe the alarm or something went off while I was gone and that this was a safety feature, but I remember reading somewhere that alarm only goes off if the doors are opened. I also did a search for this problem on the forums but I couldn't find it....sorry.

 

The one time I did it, I had turned off the car with the key, and then quickly re-started the engine (I forget why I had to suddenly restart the car, but it was urgent). I guess maybe it put the car in a state in which it thought it had had it's battery unplugged?

I think the other time was when I stalled my 6MT while preparing to leave from work...and then I restarted it and had that problem again....

So for me, I'm guessing it has something to do with how I'm starting up my car. Everyone else seems to get it after their car has been sitting around...

 

Where do you find this code? On the disc?

Found it on the card that the dealer gives you. It had two codes, I used the four digit one.
