Stock brake pads
Stock brake pads
i took my 2005 tsx for some warrantee repairs on my suspension and asked them to check my brakes. At that time my car had 35000 miles and the brakes squeeked and made slight metal rubbing sounds. The dealership said my brakes were fine and i still had like 50% all around. I have 42000 miles now and when i backed my car out of the garage my brakes made alot of noise and it felt like metal to metal contact. i looked at my rotors and it feels like there little grooves that are into the rotors.
What are my options? How much would it cost me to change the pads. could i get the rotors resurfaced or do i need to buy new ones? are there better aftermarket stuff that are cheaper?

Semi-metallic pads all squeak occasionally, and (some) grooves in the rotors are normal. It's easy enough to have them inspected.
Also, as long as your car brakes smoothly (e.g. no vibrations), I generally recommend not resurfacing a Honda rotor. The new brake pads will seat on it just fine -- they may not last quite as long, though. However, anytime I had a Honda rotor turned, it required almost immediate replacement afterwards. Might as well wait until they go.
