Starter replacement?

Well im pretty sure i need a new starter. I am fine with doing the job, but looks like intake manifold needs to be removed, Does anyone know if thats what acura recommends in the service manual? i dont want to do extra work if i dont need to.

Thanks in advance,
Derek

Derka:

How do you know it is starter and not something else? Like battery or fuel pump or something else in ignition system?

How many miles does your TSX have?

Can you jump start your car? Since you have a manual tramsmission, try having some friends push you and try it.

When I had a car with manual in the past, that is how I knew my starter was bad.

Well the car will start, but the starter seems like it isnt engaging at first, aka bad bendix. I just pulled it out, yes i did remove the plenum. I will put a new one in tomorrow, and confirm.

A fuel pump would still allow the starter to crank, a bad starter would affect cranking.

91k miles. Which kind of upset me, every other honda i have had(7) has been at least 94k miles, and all have had original starters, even up to my last civic which had 180k miles. shit my 96 hatch still has the original starter with 220k on the chassis.
