Start up problems
Hi everyone,
My 2006 tsx was having issues starting up the past few days. I ruled out battery/alternator issues after testing the voltage and seeing everything was good. I had a friend hit the starter with a pole while I tried to start it up and we were able to get it started from that, which made me think it was a bad starter. I then took it to the shop and had the starter replaced with a brand new part. The car started up perfectly the next few days after that. However, today I went to start the car and had trouble once again getting it to start. Is there a possibility the starter went out again that quickly? Very confused as to what to problem may be. Any help is appreciated!

Engine doesn't turn over, it literally does nothing other than make the sound of a click when I turn the key to the on position. I called the mechanic who fixed it and he is almost positive he doesn't think it's the starter. I'm confused because my problem before was 100% the starter and it was working fine for weeks once he fixed it. Now it will randomly not start up once and awhile. Today i've had no problems with it though but tomorrow who knows. Very confused

See attached diagram. Check blk/wht wire to starter for 12v when keyswitch is turned to start. If 12v missing then faulty wiring, faulty starter cut relay, or trans switch. If 12v present then bad starter.
good luck
