Hi Everyone,

I just got my TSX a few weeks ago and am loving it! I've been taking it easy for the first 1000 miles but today was such a beautiful day I decided to open it a little bit. I noticed a sound, like maybe a wheel or gear spinning very quickly, that seems to come from below the gear shift at around 6,000 rpms. Is this normal? I've got the 6MT.

maybe Acura slipped him a 2008 by accident and he's hearing the turbo spool up?

Seriously, i agree it's probably the VTEC

 

i know the sound your talking about its just the sound the engine makes...vtec makes a change in the notes of the intake/exhaust he is talking about just the whine at 6k rpm....

Where do you live? Is it up north? If it's a really noticeable spinning...
Do you have the heat on in the car? If you do, then it could be that. Try turning the heat/ac off and see if it does it. Even if it does though, it's still normal.
