Shaking RearView Mirror
Had my TSX 6MT SSM for 3 months now and been noticing that the rearview mirror has an ambient low grade shake EVEN without the sound system on. A service personnel inspected it and believed that the joint in the mirror was bad, so he replaced it. But, that did not solve the problem. I took it back again and the senior service manager inspected it and told me that he noted this in the new TSXs. He tells me that the interior is so well sealed that vibrations from sound or road will translate to the winshield. The manner in which the mirror is mounted on a bar between two joints allow the shaking to be more noticeable. He told me that he and other service personnel believe that this is a design problem with the new TSXs. Has anyone else noted this?? Does anyone have any solutions?? I am getting tired of looking shakey objects during the day and squiggly objects at night.
I've noticed this on my TSX, but the vibrations are normally not that distracting. Since the mirror is attached to the windshield (which is like a big radar dish that transmits vibrations to the mirror) I don't know of any solutions.
I haven't taken it to the dealer yet, I'm still under 1,500 miles...
I am surprised not many others have responded to this thread, it leaves me to believe that:
1) Not everyone's having this same problem, so maybe that mean's it can be fixed; or
2) Everyone else doesn't mind the shaking and/or everyone else is blind
3) Maybe this thread is not getting enough attention being in the "Car Problem and Fixes" forum, maybe we should repost this in the "Car Talk" forum?
We have a $40k MDX AND a $19k Mazda Protege5 2003, and neither of them have shaking mirrors. If an under $20k car can have a rearview mirror that doesn't vibrate with every little freakin road imperfection, I simply don't see why we have to deal with it.
In the meantime, I'll see if I can find a fix, if I don't take it to the dealer before my first 5k mile check-up/oil change.

I have the mirror shake as well. Its a pain. Knock on wood, I dont have any major rattles yet. On a particularly cold morning, I thought I heard some weird sounds, but after it warmed up, they seem to have went away. I'm keeping my ears open.
I just my TSX on Friday and I have noticed this problem to.
Mine only shakes when the sunroof is open and all my windows are up. The part of the sunroof that sticks up in front vibrates at certain speeds and cause the mirror to shake. I am going back to the dealer to complain.

3000 miles and going WRONG
What irritated me was the service manager saying that the mirror vibrating was a defect of acura tsx engineering and that was something I had to live with.
In the worst case, he explains, the windshield could be mounted loose or incorrectly. Anyway, I suppose I am getting used to the violent vibrations and distorted blurry images in my rearview mirror. It was alot more difficult to get use to when I forked over 28k for the brand new. But, 3000 miles strong. The car is great, but the rearview mirror vibrations are progressively getting worse, and worse! Oh, but it is okay because it is "something I have to live with" -- wisdom of the ever-so-knowing acura service manager.
