Seats flaking

2006 5AT RBP w/Parchment owner here, purchased new in October 2006. I noticed yesterday that the material on my driver's seat is beginning to flake. The section of the seat in question is the long vertical strip next to the left side of my body. It is non-perforated, non-leather part of the seat.

I'll be heading into Acura in a month or so for regularly scheduled maintenance and I'll ask about it at that time. In the meantime, has anyone seen this before? How would something like this be covered by warranty? How could it be fixed? Nothing funny going on, just sitting in the seat and driving. I paid way too much for this car for seat material to be flaking after 14 months/15k miles use.

Thanks

My 06 6MT MR, bought new November 2006 driver's side seat cover was replaced by the dealer free, under warranty last month. It had scratches thanks to be assaulted by a sharp object and a great dealer that replaced it-no problem. My car now has 34,000+ miles. While they were replacing the covers they informed me that in the future the heated seats will stop working. they ordered parts so they are fixing that the next time I am there for service. good luck.

Your TSX is too new for the seats to be doing that. It should be taken care of by the dealer under warranty.

Why do they think the heated seats will stop working in the future?? Have they discovered a problem with the heated seats?
Just wondering cause I haven't heard of any problems with the 06 seats thusfar.

I am not 100% sure but it has something to do with the wiring. As of now the heat is working. they are doing preventive maintenance just in case, before the warranty ends.

Wow...I had no idea! I have an 06. I'm gonna have to check into this the next time I go in for service. Thanks for the heads up!
