Seat Heater Switch Light Out

I had my center console apart to hook up my XM unit, and last night i noticed that the driver side seat heater switch will not light up. the indicator (orange light) does come on when the switch is actually turned on to high or low, and the seat does get hot. But the actual backlight of the switch is out.

i had it apart today to make sure everything was connected, and it looked like it was. so what could the problem be? i am stumped.

could be the illumination bulb for the switch.

Angry my passanger side seat heater light is out too

It when out last week, and today my console and HVAC button lights also when out, I want to cry, I am i n bad shape.

I should have never messed with the dome lights, changing them to blue leds,
you think that might be my problem?

I dont know mang, i replaced my lights with the blue LEDs as well. But i think i must have bumped my seat heat switch one too many times and broke it. I dont think the two problems can be related at all, but who knows.

i ordered a new switch and installed it a few days ago myself. works perfectly again, so my original switch just went bad. i got the new switch for like 25$ (*cough* rip off *cough*)

By the way, my dealer said its not a warranty item. Should have it fixed free of charge regardless but bulbs are not covered under the bumper to bumper.

Well my light went out after I had my RCA plugs put in for my ipod. I was worried, but then I just flipped the switch a few times and it came back on. Haven't had any trouble since. Try shaking it a little.

My passenger side died about 2 weeks ago and I'm trying to find the bulb themselves. Impossible to find, at least in the SD area, without ordering a box of 10 for $2 and $8 shipping. Guess I'm stubborn about the $25 for a new switch. The bulbs come out pretty easy - I believe its just a slotted screw.

Has anyone tried to look for the bulbs themselves?

Unhappy

My passenger side light failed last week. I'm yet to open anything up - so I'm sure this didn't get bumped/prodded. I Wonder how widespread these failures are. Haven't asked the dealer to fix it yet - Hoping they'll be nice and cover it.

They cover it. I had mine done a few weeks ago. No big deal. Takes them like 5 mins to replace if they have the part, which mine didn't.
