Unhappy Crunched my car and watched it get towed off :-(

Had my first accident today in my TSX. Been enjoying it now for 6 months and 14k miles, only to have some moron drift into my lane on a sharp left hander, forcing me into the curb. I wasn't going that fast, about 35mph, but it has a hard impact. I walked away but the car had the following visible damage:

1. The 3 curtain airbags on the right side deployed.
2. Front wheel is mangled and not pointing the same direction as the left side.
3. Front fender is tweeked.
4. Sill trim below doors is missing.
5. Rear wheel is tipped under the car.
6. Wheel well molding wrapped around the tire.
7. Rear mudflap is bent in half.
8. Whole right side has scratches from the brush along the road.

I consider myself lucky that there is a 6" granite curb there that I bounced off of. I was headed for a telephone pole, but luckily I didn't bounce up and over the curb. My poor car didn't look to good...very sad state of affairs. Hopefully Progressive has a good claims process. When I told the lady on the phone that 3 of the 4 airbags on that side deployed, she said that they would probably total the car. Not sure of how accurate that is, but I'll know by Friday at the latest.

Boo hoo....

Cars can be fixed, bodies take much longer to heal. Glad that you're OK. What happened to the other car? Did they hit you? Did they stop? Did you get a plate number?

The most important is you are not hurt from the impact..... from your discreptions, the insurance may need to declare a total lost as the total cost incurred on the repair may cost as much as the value in the black book.... as the most expensive part to fix your car now is those airbag..... it cost approximately $3-4 thousands in Canadian to fix one and that added up to about $10-12K already in your case.... plus the rest of the repair cost will be huge!!! If the damages is serious.... it may not be a bad idea to get a brand new one from the claim... as long as it is not your fault in the accident. All the best!!!

Thanks for the kind words. The other person either didn't see me or didn't want to take responsibility so they didn't stop. No plates or anything to give to the police unfortunately :-( I'll post some pics once I get them off of my camera.
