Rust on a 2005 model????

Hey everyone, I have a second question... I noticed after a car wash that the hood of my car has dings all over it probably from debris in shitty NJ. Anyways, there is a chip right by the headlight on the hood and it has formed a lot of rust already. I don't know what to do, how can I stop this from happening and/or get it corrected. Will acura's rust warranty cover it? I had put a nice coat of wax on the car back in the fall before winter but it seems that nothing can protect it from road debris...

Anyone have any idea to help me keep the front of my car from looking like a battlefield? And also, what can I do about the rust...

Thanks

if you get a rock chip down to the bare metal, nothing is going to prevent it from rusting. if you take it to the dealer, they might clean it and touch it up for you. but if you want to do it yourself

1) clay bar the area, it'll remove all the rust deposits
2) use touch-up paint to cover the chip and put the clear coat on top

no more rusting

That might not be enough though. The rust might come back in a year or two.

Every spring I find my share of chips, usually with some rust. Here's what I did: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23120

No rust has come back to haunt me on these repairs, not even any bubbling.

^^ That is exactly what I do. Slightly time consuming, but necessary to prevent rust.
