I can't even picture what you are trying to say... The rear jack point is at the center bottom toward the rear bumper. It's nowhere near the exhaust.... Any pics?

I think I remember you have to lower the car to connect it to the arms or something.

more info please
car year, lowered?, stock exhaust? How are you jacking it up

i can't even imagine how an aftermarket exhaust would create this situation... so must be how you are trying to jack it up...

exhaust to the left and right.... jacking point in the middle...

are you jacking from a different angle? should be directly behind the car, in the middle right? at least thats how i did it

only had a problem of it not lifting high enough... but thats a different topic

^^ what they said. You position the jack directly form the back. It shouldn't interfere with any exhaust piping.

I found it much easier to put the rear up on ramps vice jacks since you can install the rsb under load. If you're skinny enough you can do it with the car sitting on the ground but clearance for your tools is an issue.

ummm why not use the jack points under the rear doors??? Jack one end up, put it on a stand then go do the same on the other side, done deal. None the less, you shouldn't be having a clearance issue with the rear jack point anyways.

Coming from experience I agree with gavinn58. Jack up the car and then place it on jack stands. It will be much more secure (in case the jack were to fail) and it will be easier to install.

I installed the Progress Rear Sway Bar myself. It took me a while but it's definitely doable.

There isn't enough space to jack the point up and then place the stand underneath.

If jacking the rear jack point can't get the rear of the car high enough to fit stands underneath, you can jack the front up first, put jackstands under the front, and then proceed to jack the rear up. The angle of the car with the front on stands makes the height of the door jack points higher, so you can fit stands underneath.

i'm unable to jack up the car because the tip can't even reach the tow hook part... the jacks arm is making contact and i'ma fraid it might bend the pipe...

I'm jacking from dead middle but right in front of the hook there seems to be pipes there, (i assumed they were exhaust, sorry if they're not) but they're standing lower then the hook itself and therefore i can't seem to reach the hooks by itself...

does rear sway bar works like a strut bar that prevent body roll when turning?

a strut bar strengthens the chassis...it doesn't do much to prevent body roll (aside from improving rigidity and letting the suspension do it's work). A rear sway bar is used, as it's name suggests, when the car sways to the side. So yes, a sway bar is used to reduce body roll. It does so by lowering the tire that's located on the inside of a turn. For example, if you're making a right turn, the car will try to lean to the left, the sway bar will "lift" the right tire, which in turn makes the right side of the car "fall", thus causing the car not to roll (as much). Stiffening the suspension (adjustable coilovers, for instance) will further reduce body roll.

If you have a strut bar only and you noticed a difference...a sway bar will be extremely noticeable to you.

As for OP, I don't remember any "pipes" that would get in the way of your jack's arm. I can't imagine what purpose they'd serve. The only pipes I can think of would be the tow hook itself. That's where you're actually supposed to jack the car.

Or perhaps you're trying to use a cross member to jack the car up? I remember 07carbontsx putting a jackstand there just in case. In that case, you're definitely far from the jack point.
