Safelite AutoGlass states that if the crack is less than 4", the windshield can be repaired:

Any crack larger, and the windshield needs to be replaced. I have no experience with Safelite, but many insurance companies work with them.

I once had a star that started to crack in the driver's line of sight. The glass company said they could not repair because of its location. Sometimes it is nice to have a fresh new windshield to look out of.

location and size dictate whether to repair or replace.

if you replace make sure you don't get the cheap OE glass (ie safelite glass). get OEM quality glass (PPG, AP tech...whichever glass came from the factory less the honda badge) or factory OEM glass. not sure if the TSX came with acoustic glass or not...if it did make sure the new glass has these qulities or you'll have increased road noise in the cabin.

Funny that you recommend replacing with OE glass (Honda or equivelent). From what I've read here over the years (and from my own experience), the OE glass is crap (I replaced the windshield in 05 at around 3 years because it was so shitty, it was literally dangerous driving into the sun). I never even consider fixing a windshield; in Mass, the insurance co. will buy me a new one once a year (if need be). I've had numerous replacement windshields over the years (see previous sentence), and I've always had good luck with them. I'm not sure anyone really knows what constitutes a "quality" windshield. But, I suppose if I was actually paying out of pocket for it, I'd pay more attention.

^^ummm...i dont' think you read my post clearly. i said "make sure you DON'T get the cheap OE ( ie safelite glass)."

ok i forgot the other "E". dont' get OEE cheap crap. it's reverse engineered and typically offered at dirt cheap prices, b/c...it is cheap and the quality is awful. perhaps this link will help:

the US OEM equivilant to the factory Asahi glass on the 1G TSX is AGC. if you can find it, it has the same specs, same glass, no honda/acura badge.

i know this link is for the 3G TL, but the same can be had for any car....just want to pass the info along.
