i bought a new ipod charger for my car. i plugged it into the outlet in the center console next to the "not an ashtray." problem is, the head of the adapter is too big so it puts pressure on the little flip cover of the outlet which in turn puts too much pressure on the cover of the whole compartment. i need to remove the flip cover so that not too much pressure is put on the cover of the compartment. anyone know how to do this?

looks like there is a little pin where the aux power cover connects to it's base. I would guess you could take that pocket out and then take a small punch, or even a larger sewing needle and push it out. I wouldn't take the pockets cover off though because it is spring loaded etc... and would be hard to get back on, not to mention the ugly gap you'd see afterward. Hope that offers a little insite

You really want to modify the car's pocket to fit an ipod car charger? You should consider your priorities a little harder. Perhaps it would be a better idea to find another smaller or L-shaped car charger.

Or you could plug in the charger in that center box =]
