Rear Speaker Pops
Rear Speaker Pops
I did a search and found a good amount of information regarding similar instances of rear speaker popping. Like many of you, having the volume over 20 with the windows down, the bass hits and pops extremely loud (embarrassing during road trips). I really don't want to replace these speakers with aftermarkets because in all honesty this 06 car has been to the dealer more times than 97 Nissan and I'm not sure how long I am going to keep it. My questions are:
1. Is this normal for the system to pop when hitting bass with the windows down or is this something I need to take to the dealer.
2. If someone brought the car back to the dealer and fixed it, what was the problem?
3. What the heck does the windows being down have to do with it?
Thanks!

the rear deck speakers were made to be "subwoofers" however; they aren't going to hold up like a subwoofer would. If the popping is annoying and you can't stand to have your music below volume 20 (which IMO is defining even with the windows down) get some 6x9 replacements that are more made for bass like some infinity kappas or alpine type r's which will solve your problems
I had the same problem. The dealer fixed it the first time. It happened again and then i got aftermarket ones. If you dont want to buy new ones then go to the dealer. Demonstrate the sound for the technician first. He might try to tell you, "we used the diagnostics cd and we didnt hear anything. We send the speakers to acura and if they are not broken then there can be a problem." Tell him that is the dealers problem and demand that they give you a new speaker.

I think I am going to go to the dealer and make them replace them. In all of my cars I have never had a speaker pop and I am not accepting that "it's too loud". Now that I think of it, I had a non navi loaner for one of my many visits back to the dealer and it seemed to be louder than mine at the same volume numbers. Maybe I have other problems too. How do I figure that out? Some of you are saying 20 is defining but I can't even hear anything comprehensible coming out of the speakers until 7!
