Rear Deck Light
Rear Deck Light
I have something stuck in the rear deck light, and I have no idea how to take the light out to clean it. The windshield back there has something sticky on it as well. Any ideas where to find instructions on how to take that out to clean that?
I looked through the DIY section and I couldn't find anything. My apologies if I missed it.

How adventurous are you or how bad is that thing bothering you? I only ask because...
From p 22-168 '04 TSX Shop Guide (I don't think this has changed over the model years):
1. Remove the rear shelf*.
2. It should pop out of the housing. Housing and lens should separate.
*Remove the rear shelf:
is a mess. There are two full pages with diagrams. My scanner is down. If you can find someone with a shop guide, p. 20-59/20-60 show the procedure in the '04 and the procedure varies depending on whether you have side curtain airbags or not. (I didn't think these were an option?!? Hmm) Basically you have to remove every piece of trim on the shelf and then disconnect the light. (Trim being the center seatbelt anchor, speaker grilles, pass-through seatback lock assembly, etc.)

Sorry all, should have replied that I figured it out. It was actually really easy. Just have to take out the light from inside the trunk, and then the entire housing comes out as one piece. You might need a flat-head screwdriver to get it out, but if you're like me, your biggest problem will be taking the whole thing out and not separating the two pieces of the housing.
Again, if anyone reading this wants to take that out, just take the light out from inside the trunk, then get in the back seat and pry the housing out with a screwdriver... go easy of course, but I can't imagine how someone could crack anything given that the entire housing really isn't held down by anything other than a snug fit.
