Rear Bumper Scratch Fixed!

Many of you will remember when I scraped/gouged/ripped my rear bumper after putting up the garage door with the car touching it, resulting in this beauty:

As you can imagine (or remember), I wanted to kill myself and at least one or two random other people. I rubbed it, buffed it, compounded it, and prayed over it. All to no avail. Eventually, I was able to fix it the old-fashioned way: have your cousin marry a woman who owns a body shop and get the family discount. The result:

I am much happier with how my rear end looks now.

looks good, i have several "imperfections" on various parts of my car. i'd love to get the whole thing looking brand new again.

just not sure i want it badly enough to pay for it. rather spend money on stuff i dont need like JDM headlights, LOL

They did repaint the bumper so no swirls there, but you're right that there were also swirls on the trunk lid. I detailed the car myself using some Sonus polishes, a P/C polisher, and then Meguiars NXT. Did a terrific job removing the swirls from a "weed whipper" style car wash -- another bonehead learn-the-hard-way move on my part.

Next will probably be a hood respray after this winter, and a clear bra. The friggin' hood is ridiculous with a ton of little white nicks. The family discount was substantial -- basically paid for the paint.
