Rattles fixed by dealer today

I took my TSX in for the 10,000 mile service today, and told the dealer about the intermittent rattles coming from the right side of the dash and the front passenger door area, and the thumping sound coming from the same areas when going over bumps or driving on rough roads. I expected to be told that they could not recreate the noise. However, I received a call a few hours later, and was told that they had diagnosed the problem, and fixed it.

I rushed over to the dealer, and lo and behold, they actually seemed to have fixed the problem. I went out of my way to drive on rough roads, and also drove on the freeway lane dividing dots for a while on my drive home, and there were no more rattles or thumping sounds.

The paperwork for the warranty work indicates as follows: “Cause Front shock tower
Correction Road test necessary for diagnosis. Retourque brace bar under wiper linkage covers.”

I do not think that this is related, but on the paperwork for the 10,000 mile service there is the following comment: “Retourque driveshaft flange bolts.”

The service advisor told me that they had performed the same fix on another TSX last week, and that he was going to have the same thing done on his TSX.

That's excellent cruiser. I'm going to reference your post when I take mine in for it's first service. I've got similar issues and no service manager can deny me now!
