Radio and Nav Codes
Radio and Nav Codes
I have read through a lot of the threads and have not found a good solution. Luckily, I found out about the need for the codes before I have to unplug the battery for any reason. I cannot find the code on the outside of the glove box or in the fuse box under the hood. I did not buy the car from an Acura dealership, so I'm not sure who to contact for this information. I found the https://radio-navicode.acura.com/ website but it asks for device serial number. I found the Nav serial number with the instructions on the website, but I wan unable to get the radio code. Also, I am not the original owner, so the phone number and zip code will not match up when it is needed for the website information. I'm not sure what to do at this point.

Did you try this procedure on the website to get the radio serial number?
Turn the ignition switch to ACC (I).
Turn on the audio unit, and make sure you see COdE in the upper display. If you don’t see this message, pull the backup fuse for 1 minute, and then go back to step 1.
Turn off the audio unit.
Press and hold the top halves of the SEEK/SKIP and CH/DISC bars, and then press and release the PWR/VOL knob. This display toggles between two screens.
The first screen displays a U and the first four digits of the serial number (for example, U2200).
The second screen displays an L and the last four digits of the serial number (for example, L0055).
Ignore the U and L, and write down all eight digits.
Ah yes but i forgot, nearly all these posts, the user is convieniently out of the USA and/or can't visit a dealer for some reason... lol
I tried those instructions for the radio code but with no luck. I just realized though that I never saw COdE in the upper display.
What does it mean to pull the backup fuse?
This could be the reason why it did not work. I can take it to a dealer, but the closest one is nearly an hour away, so I will have to wait unitl I get the chance to. Will these instructions only work once the battery has been disconnected and it asks for the radio code?
