Radio
Radio
Has anyone experienced staticky radio? I was made aware that the antenna was inlade into the back window and was also told that the type of tint I have may be effecting the radio signal.
When I use a CD the music is crystal clear.

I find my general FM reception is pretty good, but my AM reception tends to be choppy (although that could be the strength of the AM signals - when I'm going from Baltimore to D.C. I can't hear D.C. stations very well but NYC stations come in clear!)
I don't have tinted windows, but I have noticed that occassionally that stations I used to get in my old car (350Z) do not come in as clear in the TSX. Although, the static is usually for a short period of time before it becomes clear again.
There are a lot of threads about this including one post that claims their is a dealer service notice about it. However, that has been argued whether it really exists or not for the TSX.
I too have noticed that the radio reception is staticy for me in Maryland. My 97 civic I sold a month ago was better, and my girlfriends Xterra was better than my civic, my RSX loaner was better than those two and my friends VW Beetle was better than those three! My TSX, dead last.

The bottom line is that the TSX's FM reception is poor, with static interference at nearly every change in direction, regardless of the power of
the transmitting station. The static is less apparent on loud rock stations with the volume turned up.
Acura claims that this is an acceptable quality of
their radios and the owner has no recourse.

Talked to dealer
In speaking with my dealer I was told that Acura is aware of the problem and that this problem is also affecting the MDX's as well. Currently Acura has no intention of correcting the problem and their focus is set on repairing mechanical issues before even exploring an audio issue.
He just recommnded I buy an XM radio as a fix and that a permanent fix is not likely in the short term. You would think since they know about it they would perhaps issue an incentive of some sort.
It really pisses me off when I spent nearly $29000 on a car and I can't even get good reception.
