quick question

I've got an '05 with 10K miles. I just finished changing the oil and I was revving the engine in my garage and it wouldnt rev past 4.5K. It was almost as if there was a rev limiter there. I thought this was strange, I guess I've never tried it before. I took it out for a drive and it easily went to 7K rpm's, even when I was coasting I would put it in neutral and rev it and it would go up to 7K easy. Anyway, I get back from driving it around the neighborhood, get back in the garage and try to rev it again, and again it wont go past 4.5K rpm. Is this normal behavior?

sorry if this is a repost, but I tried searching. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I did search, as previously stated.

I "should have" previously stated that I have an MT. Is it possible that this is also true with an manual transmission?

In neutral, regardless of whether it's an AT or MT, you cannot rev beyond 4.5-5k.

Plus, this has been thoroughly discussed so this thread is now closed.

Also, you obviously didn't search hard enough...
