Questions on brakes

So I just called my dealer to price a brake job because my breaks are making noise. He priced my

Front

pads and resurface rotors = $270.00 includes labor

Rear

Pads - 170.00 includes labor.

My car has 46K miles

He said I will only need to resurface the front rotors after asking how many miles I have.. Does that sound to high and also should I be lookin in to doing it myelf and purchasing aftermarket pads or rotors. I could change the front pads but I have never done rotors before. How hard is it and what tools would I need for the rotors. Also are the rear pads as far as the work, the same as changing the front ones?

Thanks all

If you use Stainless Steel (since my thread included stainless steel brake lines) and my screen name, should get you there. Plenty of us have done this and can offer advice once you read through that thread. Take notes b/c as I recall, it had a lot of good suggestions in it.
